A date with apples

Fruits are god’s gift to us. But getting your kid to love it is also the biggest challenge He has given to all mothers.

"Fruits are god’s gift to us. But getting your kid to love it is also the biggest challenge He has given to all mothers. "
Like every mother, I’ve always faced the problem of making my kid eat fruits. Funnily because the doctor had prescribed an apple a day for him, he hated the fruit most.
I tried all possible ways to get him drawn to the fruit. But was far from any success. I never knew the answer lay in a vacation.
On his summer holidays, we went off to Himachal. A family friend had an apple orchard. So we decided to spend some peaceful days in the farm. Out of his comfort zone, without his friends and playstation, my son had a real tough time to cope with it. But soon, he started getting into the groove.
Across the day he used to watch the trees and people working. While it’s certainly not one of his interest areas, due of lack of choice he opted to join hands with them. He started teaming up with the farm workers and helped them in plucking and sorting apples. Like a spell, the activity brought him closer to the fruit. And gradually, he developed liking for it.
Once back home, I didn’t have to try at all. Apples have already entered his system. Leaving no room for worries and lots of happiness for me.
